1) EMS Foreign Language Translator: Imagine responding to a 9-1-1 call and you are met by a group of people speaking in a foreign language. You can't figure out who is hurt, or where the injured people are. You may not even know if you are at the right location. Imagine finding a victim who is speaking to you, but you can't understand what they are trying to tell you. You can't ask the basic questions like "Does this hurt?" or "Are you taking any medications?". You don't even know what type of translator to request on the radio.
Our Medical Translator is designed to help you in this situation. It contains a list of basic medical and emergency phrases that a first responder commonly uses, with both the English and Spanish language version. You can read questions to the patient, or have them read it from the screen themselves.
Our first version of the Medical Translator contains phrases in English, Spanish, and a phonetic version to help you pronounce the words. Future versions will support additional languages.
2) EMS Scenario Training: Contains a list of 50 medical scenarios, similar to what a medical responder will encounter during a 911 call. As you step through the scene, more information is revealed about the emergency situation. Think through each step and decide what you would do in that situation. Train with a partner, or use it during an EMS class.
Each scene is divided into the following steps:
Incident Command System (HEICS): The Incident Command System is used on emergencies of every size, and it is designed to expand as needed to fit any size incident. Most of us are familiar with the top level positions like Incident Commander, Operations, Planning, Logistics, and maybe even a few more. But as the organization grows and expands, that's where things start to get confusing! Our program, aptly named "ICS", let's you quickly and easily navigate through the entire organizational structure. You can see who reports to who in an instant. Even better, when you click on a position, you get a description of the duties and responsibilities of that position. So if you get thrown into a new position, or need to find someone to get something done, ICS will tell you who does what. New in version 2.0: Now you can make staff assignments to each position. Add names and contact info to each position that is filled then view a report of just the filled positions. You can even beam this to other handheld users and they will have all the data instantly!
Our industrial-strength professional training quizzes have been carefully created to thoroughly cover the course material of standard firefighting and medical courses. These are not easy quizzes where the answer is easy to guess, and our study guides go well beyond the actual tests that are administered when you enroll in the course.
Our quiz software allows you to take quizzes in different formats (multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank), scramble questions, repeat incorrectly answered questions, etc. This interactive learning environment is very effective, and addictive!
Every year millions of recent medical assistant school graduates and working professionals are required to pass competitive entrance, licensing, or certification exams to get their job of choice or advance in their chosen career. These study guides will help you pass these exams and improve your score. Even better, review the questions periodically to refresh your knowledge. These practice exams were written by Danni R., CMA, member of AMAA, and MA Instructor. She knows what it takes to do well on these certification exams and runs one of the most popular web sites for Medical Assistants.
We offer a series of practice exams which are compatible with Quizzler, the leading quiz software for the handheld PDA platform. Before you try out these quizzes, be sure to download a free copy of Quizzler. Then you can practice for your exam anywhere, any time: waiting in line, eating lunch, in the car or bus, lounging on the couch, right before a quiz (you know, in school, last minute cramming, like we all did as a student!).
